Sarah Timbrook-Nugent - Project Manager
Sarah Timbrook-Nugent has been with GLS as a project manager since 2006. She holds a Master’s degree in German literature and certificates in business German from the Goethe Institut and the Institut für Internationale Kommunikation. She helps train new translators as an instructor with the Translation & Interpretation program at Bellevue College. Sarah has significant travel, study, and work experience in Germany and prides herself on building strong relationships with GLS clients.

 

Noelle Knapp-Lucero - Translator
Noelle is a native of Seattle with more than ten years of experience as a German to English translator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in German studies at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, spending her junior year abroad in Munich, Germany. She went back to Munich to study and work after graduating from college, later returning to the United States for graduate school. Noelle holds a master’s degree in German to English translation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. Her experience in Germany also includes extended stays in Mainz and Darmstadt to work as a translator.

 

Geoff Cox - Editor, Project Manger
The newest member of the GLS team, Geoff devotes his energies to project management, editing translations, and GLS’s web and technology needs.  From Seattle, Geoff studied German language and literature at the University of California, Santa Cruz (Bachelors), LMU München, and the University of Washington (Masters, PhD).  He has taught language, literature, film, and cultural studies at the University of Washington, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (Münster), Seattle Pacific University, and for the Seattle Opera.

 

 
Kerstin Gackle - Project Manager, Translator, Editor
Kerstin has worked as a project manager, translator and editor at GLS since April 2008. Kerstin holds a Master’s Degree in Germanics and a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MATESOL). As part of her graduate studies, she taught German for four years and English as a second language for one year. She also spent a semester abroad in Freiburg and a year teaching English in Kiel as a participant in the Fulbright program. Towards the end of her studies, she discovered translation and began working at GLS. She loves the opportunity that translation provides to work with both German and English simultaneously.

 

Susann Schüler - Intern
Susann Schüler started as the GLS Intern in March 2010. She studied Technical Translation in Magdeburg and is writing her Bachelor thesis during her stay in Seattle. She is excited by the opportunity to improve her translation and language skills at GLS during her one-year internship and hopes to gain valuable, practical insight into the profession of translation while here.
